Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-05-20

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AnotherPlayer ("the Software"), provided by Binbox Games ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

For AnotherPlayer v1, we grant you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Software at no cost, for any lawful purpose — including personal, freelance, studio, and commercial use.

All v1 features are free for all users. There is no paid tier, license key, or registration required to use any v1 feature.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

Any delay or failure by Binbox Games to enforce a license restriction does not waive our right to enforce that restriction later.

4. Donations (when available)

Once available, optional donations to support continued development of the Software will be processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd. as Merchant of Record. Paddle's buyer terms will govern donation payment processing, tax, invoices, and refunds.

Donations are voluntary contributions to development. They do not purchase a license, do not grant any additional rights beyond those granted in Section 2, and do not create any service-level commitment. AnotherPlayer v1 remains fully free regardless of whether you donate.

If you have not made a donation, Section 4 does not apply to you.

5. Intellectual Property

The Software, including all source code, design, content, and trademarks, is owned by Binbox Games and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. No ownership is transferred to you by this license.

The Software incorporates third-party open-source components, each governed by its own license. In particular, audio file format conversion is performed by a bundled build of FFmpeg (https://ffmpeg.org), licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1 or later (LGPL-2.1-or-later). The bundled FFmpeg is built with the --disable-gpl and --disable-nonfree options (an LGPL-only configuration). The full LGPL license text and build provenance are distributed with the Software under the licenses/ffmpeg directory, and the corresponding source code is available at https://ffmpeg.org/releases/. FFmpeg runs as a separate subprocess and is not linked into the Software. AnotherPlayer is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, the FFmpeg project.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BINBOX GAMES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OR USE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. BECAUSE THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE U.S. DOLLAR (USD $1), OR THE AMOUNT OF ANY VOLUNTARY DONATION YOU MADE TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Termination

These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the Software. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms — including, without limitation, Section 3 (Restrictions). Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession. Sections 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 survive termination.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Nothing in this agreement affects your statutory consumer rights under your local law. For users in the EU/EEA/UK, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply where they provide stronger rights than these Terms.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea, except where mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence provides otherwise.

11. Modifications

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the effective date.
